Drachm (Silver, 27 mm, 4.20 g, 3 h), AWH (Ohrmazd-Ardaxšēr). ‘lʾmštly’ = ‘rāmšahr’ (‘With a peaceful realm’ in Pahlavi); before head, ‘yzdkrty MLKAn [MLKA]’ = ‘Yazdgird šāhān šāh’ (‘Yazdgird, King of Kings’ in Pahlavi) Draped bust of Yazdgird I to right, wearing elaborate mural crown with a frontal crescent; behind head. Rev. Fire altar with ribbons, flanked by two attendants; above altar, crescents and pellets; to right and left, ‘AW – H’ (abbreviation for the name of the mint in Pahlavi); pellets on the altar shaft. Göbl type I/1. SNS III/1, type Ib1/1a (var. 6). Struck from somewhat corroded dies, otherwise, extremely fine.
